Hello, I'm Steve Petrar!
I'm an Anesthesiologist based in Vancouver BC, and a volunteer with Team Broken Earth.
In November I will join the Team Broken Earth Vancouver surgical mission to Guatemala.
- This year, for the first time ever, we will be including Urology services!
Our hope is to "restore the flow" for as many patients as we're able to.
- But these procedures are resource intensive! We need your help!
As a fundraiser called "Ride for Flow", I will ride laps of an MTB trail called Bobsled.
- I will do this continuously for 24 hours, and I hope you will consider sponsoring me with a pledge per lap!
All proceeds of this event will be directed towards supplies for Urology services for our upcoming mission.

There are two ways you can donate to Ride for Flow:
- The fun one - click the link to this Google form and enter your pledge per lap, and your email. After the ride is done, we will send you the "ride report" with how many laps were completed, and your suggested donation based on your pledge.
- The standard one - you can donate a flat sum to Ride for Flow right now, using the "Sponsor Me" button on this page.
- However you decide to donate, you will receive a tax receipt via email.
Details:
Bobsled is a blue rated flow trail located on Mt. Fromme in North Vancouver, BC.
- According to Trailforks.com, Bobsled is the #1 Mountain Biking trail, in the world!
- One complete lap of Bobsled is 2.3kms long, with an even 100m of climbing.
- How many laps will I do?
- Make a per lap pledge, and let's find out!
When?
- I am tentatively planning on riding June 20 - 21st.
- This is weather dependent, and in the event of poor weather, we will reschedule for July.
- I would LOVE some company up there!
- All are welcome to come join me for a lap (or ten).
- You can even trail-run Bobsled!
- I'll be the guy in the TBE shirt, doing laps of Bobsled, all day... And all night....
I sincerely thank you for your generosity in donating to this fundraiser, and I hope together we can raise some serious funds which will be directed to an important area of need.
I have seen firsthand how life-changing these operations can be for our Guatemalan patients, and I know the funds we raise will make an impact on many people's lives.
Thank you!!
