I will be participating in a medical relief and education mission with members of Team Broken Earth Vancouver later this year (November, 2024). Myself, along with a team of other nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, and non-medical volunteers will be going to Antigua, Guatamala to provide Indigenous Mayan patients with free surgery that they would otherwise be unable to receive. This year we will be performing specialized surgeries in orthopedic, gynecological, urological, and general surgery.
I have wanted to take part in a mission trip like this since highschool, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to use my skills as an operating room nurse to do volunteer work like this now.
