Hey there, I'm David Wray, a professor, a performer and a proponent of peace.
When I was 4 years old I lost close to 90% of hearing in my left ear. It was a virus that tacked on to pneumonia, burning the inner ear hairs. It allows for some sound to come in, but articulation and direction of sound are two very difficult things for me to comprehend (The right ear is totally fine!).
Getting a cochlear implant could help, but I had been told that because I am young and have one good ear, I am not eligible.
But I have learned strategies on how to deal with it there and there are those who could use it more than I.
I have been wanting to try out biking in Rotary's Ride for Hearing for a while now as it is a cause that is dear to me.
Please help me and my team, "The VYP AmpliRiders" support The Rotary Club of Vancouver Ride for Hearing in aid of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in British Columbia.
Please help me reach my fundraising goals!
