The 2024 Trail Raiser Community Hike is happening in Bay Bulls on Saturday, June 1! Some of you know that I've been a volunteer with the Trail for four years now.  It is a wonderful, volunteer led organization and is in desperate need of community support! 

The Trail is celebrating it's 30th anniversary this May and is reaching out to the community to help fill a funding gap relating to trail maintenance.  Hikers along the 336 kilometres of the ECT are encountering an increasing number of broken, rotting boards, overgrown sections of path, and a treadway that is wet, boggy, and muddy.  This is not the norm and is driven by increased trail usage in recent years and more severe fall-winter weather, as well as the natural life cycle of some sections of the trail that is reaching the end of their useful life.

On June 1 (International Trail Day!!) - we will be out on the Trail, raising money that is essential to keeping this beautiful provincial and natural asset in great shape for all of us to enjoy.  Let's not take it for granted!!
