This weekend, Harriet, Sadie, Mike and I will join a community Trailraiser walk to help raise funds for The East Coast Trail system. The East Coast Trail is an incredible treasure, it's a truly spectacular 336-km hiking path that connects some of the most magical natural places I've ever seen, and passes right through our home city of St. John's, Newfoundland. Walking the East Coast trail has been a source of peace and sanity and wonder for me and the whole family, and it's allowed us to really get to know the landscape and coastline here in this incredible part of the world. I hope that someday we can say we've hiked every inch of this trail, but it might take us more than a few years to get there. I know that it takes a lot of work to maintain such an extensive trail (especially in this wild climate) and I hope this trail will be here for us in the future and will continue to be a source of joy and wonder for generations to come. We're donating to the East Coast Trail's maintenance fund and this year we're inviting friends and family to pitch in and sponsor our walk too. Please consider donating a little something to our fundraising efforts and support us as we hike on June 1.
