Hi, my name is Michael, I am 18 years old, and I go to Resurrection Secondary School. I love boxing, gymnastics, and to sing and dance. I love to help cook meals in the kitchen, and am learning how to play hockey, and oh yeah, I also happen to have Down syndrome. On Sunday October 6th, please consider joining us at Waterloo Park Picnic Shelter (off Westmount Rd) to help raise funds for essential services and programs for our members with Down syndrome and their families.
Please mark your calendars and plan to attend—we will be there rain or shine, ready to celebrate! Bring a blanket or lawn chairs—some picnic tables are also available.
WWDSS does not qualify to receive any government funding so all our programs and services are provided strictly based on the success of our fundraising events and donations from community members like you. WWDSS offers a wide variety of extensive ongoing programs including Mother Connection Support Group, Educational Conferences, Social Groups, Teen & Adult Hang Outs, Cooking Classes, Pizza Pals, and Weekend Social Clubs. WWDSS also offers various bursary programs that members can apply for to help offset the expensive costs that private benefits do not cover. For more information regarding our programs, please visit our website at www.wwdss.ca.
We ask for your support in helping to raise awareness and to educate people about the incredible ABILITIES of children like my friends and I that live with Down syndrome.
We would be honoured if you would consider sponsoring Michael.
Your donations can be forwarded to us via mail payable to WWDSS to Arisa Alexanian 508 Claridge Place, Waterloo, ON, N2T 2N4,
or you can click "Sponsor Me" to make a donation online.
It really does take a village!
Thank you for your support, Michael, Arisa, and Steve
