DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE: =0D=0A Boundaries and Consent: Say No to Burnout=0D=0A     =0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AWhen:  Wednesday, April 19, 7:30 to 8:30 pm PDT=0D=0A=0D=0AWhere: Online through Zoom =0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0ACost:    Editors Canada members, free; non-members, $10; student=0D=0A non-members, $5=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0AWhat do YES and NO feel like? It's a simple question?but can you=0D=0A answer it? This session dives into the experience of=0D=0A consent/boundaries and what it means for editor-client relationships. =0D=0A=0D=0AThe session will be interactive (to the extent that you?re=0D=0A comfortable), trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-friendly. It will=0D=0A include exercises to help you discern what YES and NO feel like to you=0D=0A and what questions to ask when assessing consent. You will learn how=0D=0A to create space within interactions so you can ask for what you=0D=0A want?and refuse what you don?t want?while protecting your wellbeing.=0D=0A You?ll also experience the idea of consent and boundaries as physical=0D=0A sensations, which can help chronically busy people learn how to stop=0D=0A before they burn out. =0D=0A=0D=0A Kyra Nabeta learned at a young age to manage social=0D=0A awkwardness by just working harder. While it was great for her resumé,=0D=0A this also led to a life of perfectionism, overachieving, and=0D=0A caretaking. After a spectacular burnout in 2016, she started looking=0D=0A for a better way to manage social interactions without compromising=0D=0A her needs. She?s now happy to use her vat of experience as a=0D=0A trauma-resilience instructor, mariner, academic, spinster,=0D=0A neurodivergent, athlete, masseuse, and recovering workaholic to help=0D=0A others avoid the same fate. (And yes, she?s also an editor.)=0D=0A=0D=0A =0D=0A=0D=0A Note: Editors BC will record this meeting. Editors=0D=0A Canada members can view the recording for 30 days by logging in to the=0D=0A Editors Canada website and going to the Editors BC Branch page.=0D=0A
