2024 Fall Race Team

RPSA Race Team is an inclusive, friendly, dinghy racing team that promotes the sport of competitive sailing by providing coaching and support to a team of young sailors dedicated to:

• developing excellent dinghy racing skills
• setting and achieving personal and team goals
• having tons of fun

The Rocky Point Race Team is specially tailored for young sailors who want to spend more time on the water, hone their skills in all conditions, and learn how to sail fast. Dedicated, long-term coaches work with sailors to develop advanced boat handling skills, racing tactics, and sailing strategy. Race Team options are available for a range of experience levels and age ranges.

Fall Season Schedule

Training

September 8 - November 24  | Sundays 12:00PM to 4:00PM | Tuesdays 4:30PM to 7:30PM
Thanksgiving Training Camp (Rocky Point Sailing Association): October 12-14 

Regattas

Bluenose Regatta (Kitsilano Yacht Club): November 2-3

RPSA Club Championships Regatta (Rocky Point Sailing Association): November 16-17

Opti Race Team | $729

Ages: 8 to 12
Prerequisite: CANSail 1

The Opti Race Team is ideal for active youth, ages 8 to 12, who want to level up their sailing skills. Sailors will learn how to compete in races, all while building confidence, independence, and sportsmanship in a safe and fun team-based environment. 

C420 Race Team | $729

Ages: 11 to 18
Prerequisite: CANSail 2

The Rocky Point Youth Race Team is tailored for sailors wanting to explore competitive sailboat racing. Sailors train twice a week at Rocky Point, developing advanced boat handling skills and learning how to use race tactics and strategies.

Laser Race Team | $729

Ages: 11 to 18
Prerequisite: CANSail 2

The Rocky Point Youth Race Team is tailored for sailors wanting to explore competitive sailboat racing. Sailors train twice a week at Rocky Point, developing advanced boat handling skills and learning how to use race tactics and strategies.

What to bring:

• Closed toed shoes that can get wet are mandatory (no sandals or flip-flops)
• Appropriate, layered clothing for the weather
• Change of clothes and towel
• Snacks
• Water bottle
• Sunscreen

What to expect:

• Programs run rain or shine
• Participants will be on the water as much as possible
• Personal flotation devices (PFDs) are provided. Sailors may bring their own PFDs if preferred
• You will get wet
• Drop-off and Pick-up for all programs will be in front of the Old Mill Boathouse, 2715 Esplanade St. Port Moody BC. V3H 3P4
