How do I reverse a credit card transaction?

For the Donation service:

• Follow these instructions to refund (or modify) a donation order from a donor's profile.

For the Event Registrar service:

• Follow these instructions to refund (or modify) an event order from a registrant's profile.

For the Pledge-a-thon service:

• Follow these instructions to refund (or modify) a Pledge-a-thon order from a registrant's profile, or to cancel an online donation.

For the Membership service:

• Follow these instructions to expire the membership and refund the credit cardholder.

For the Shopping service:

     Cancelling a transaction is a two step process.

1. To refund the credit cardholder: Login to your Payment Gateway account, find the credit card transaction, and reverse the charge on the person's credit card. Your payment gateway will refund the % credit card discount rate charges, but not the transaction fee.
2. To cancel the transaction in your GiftTool database: Send an email to support@gifttool.com with the order ID, transaction date, customer's name, and the transaction amount. We will adjust your database within 2-5 business days.
