Field mapping ensures that your GiftTool import files are ready for import with your Raiser's Edge table values. Once you have saved these mappings for the first time, they will be saved for the next creation of your import files.

Common Values Independent of Activity:

1. Constituent Mapping. To format your Constituent Code, address and phone Type table values.
2. General Mapping. To format the dates for your Raiser's Edge and credit card table values.

Activity Specific Values:

1. Pledge-a-thon Mapping (Pledge-a-thon activity only). To format the fields that will be related to this activity: Fund Id, Campaign Id, Raiser's Edge Appeal Id, Canadian Receipt Stack and the Raiser's Edge Event ID, and Initial Gift Reference field (which then will be updated with the generation of the import files based on the gift type from GiftTool).
   Tip: If you want to use more than one Raiser's Edge Gift Appeal Id inside the actual import files, you will need to manually change them in the generated file and not in the mapping. The Gift SubType field in Raiser's Edge is used to help you differentiate the type of gift generated (for example: whether it is a GiftTool Sponsor, Pledger or Donor).
2. Targeted Program Mapping (Donation activity only). Allows you to map as many GiftTool Targeted Giving Programs setup in the Donation service to Raiser's Edge fund ids.
3. Donation Mapping (Donation activity only). To format the fields that will be related to this activity: Fund Id, Campaign Id, Raiser's Edge Appeal Id, Canadian Receipt Stack, and Initial Gift Reference field (which then will be updated with the generation of the import files based on the gift type from GiftTool).
4. Registrar Mapping (Registrar activity only). To format the fields that will be related to this activity: Fund Id, Campaign Id, Raiser's Edge Appeal Id, Canadian Receipt Stack, and Initial Gift Reference field (which then will be updated with the generation of the import files based on the gift type from GiftTool).
5. Membership Mapping (Membership activity only). To format the fields that will be related to this activity: Fund Id, Campaign Id, Raiser's Edge Appeal Id, Canadian Receipt Stack, and Initial Gift Reference field (which then will be updated with the generation of the import files based on the gift type from GiftTool).
6. Shop Mapping (Shopping Cart activity only). To format the fields that will be related to this activity: Fund Id, Campaign Id, Raiser's Edge Appeal Id, Canadian Receipt Stack, and Initial Gift Reference field (which then will be updated with the generation of the import files based on the gift type from GiftTool).
