Hello Family and Friends :)

I am excited to share that i will be heading to Guatemala again to volunteer with Team Broken Earth Barrie from November 25th - December 3rd, 2023. This year we will be in Antigua, Guatemala. Our team will be providing much needed surgical procedures to Guatemalans in need. These procedures and treatments will be provided at zero cost to the patient and would otherwise not be possible.  I will be part of the Perianaesthesia team, along with 31 other amazing and dedicated team members.

I will be returning for my 2nd adventure with TBE Barrie. We will be preforming Orthopedic, General, Dental and Gynecological procedures.  It has been eye opening and and really made me appreciate the the quality of Health care and the Quality of life we have here in Canada. A major part of our mission is securing all of the necessary supplies, medication and equipment required. As you can imagine, a surgical mission to Guatemala is a huge undertaking, requiring vast resources and funds.  A major part of our preparation for this trip will be securing supplies and medications required to conduct many surgeries. There is no inventory of supplies in Guatemala for us to use.  Everything we need, we must bring with us. 

In support of this effort, I have created my own fundraising page to collect donations. Although this is a volunteer mission, it still comes with a cost to get ourselves, our team and supplies there. Each year the team reaches out to family, friend and generous individuals for fundraising to help offser the personal costs of volunteering.
