Strong Alone. Unstoppable Together.
Forty years ago, sisters Sydney and Sybil Browne and their
father, Robert, saw the opportunity to build a rowing program at
Havergal and rallied the community around its inception. By 2017, the
Rowing Parent Committee identified the need for a dedicated Rowing
Endowment because not only was access to rowing challenging due to its
costs and were often prohibitive for certain athletes and their
families, but also the capital needs of the program required a
sustainable capital replacement program. The Havergal Rowing Endowment
was born out of the need and opportunity to enable the full
participation of rowers on the team.
As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of rowing at
Havergal, we ask you to consider being a part of this long legacy in a
different way by making a donation in support of the Havergal Rowing
Endowment. Your support will make it possible for future generations
of young women to share the thrill of the dip and the pull of an oar
through the open water.
