Meet Xander: A Little Boy with Big Challenges and a Heart Full of Love

Xander is a vibrant 5-year-old with a love for dinosaurs,  science and helping in the kitchen. Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Xander faces unique challenges every day that can make the world feel overwhelming. He struggles with safety awareness, often not recognizing dangers around him, and elopement, where he might run off without warning. These behaviors can make everyday activities, like going to the park or even a simple walk, incredibly stressful for Xander and his family.

Emotional regulation is another hurdle for Xander. He sometimes finds it difficult to process and express his feelings, leading to moments of frustration and anxiety. In these times, he needs extra support to help him feel calm and secure.

The specially trained service dog will provide sensory support, helping Xander stay grounded when his emotions feel too big to handle.
