Volunteer Expectations

Volunteers are role models for our campers. All our program staff and volunteers strive to create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment for program participants. As role models, volunteers are expected to demonstrate respectful, positive, and helpful attitudes and behaviours.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting the supervision of campers on-land and on-water
• Assisting instructors with daily equipment prep and clean up
• Assisting instructors in lessons, on the dock, and on the water
• Eager participation in all camp activities
• Providing hands-on instruction and encouragement to campers both on-land and in the sail boats.
• Getting to know and interacting with campers.
• Maintaining a high level of respect and professionalism when interacting with campers, parents, instructors, and other volunteers.
• Acting as a role model through positive, respectful, enthusiastic, and camp-centered attitudes and behaviours.

A volunteer week runs Monday to Friday (including holiday Mondays), from 8:30am - 4:30pm. 

Volunteers are asked to indicate their availability and preferences. Please note that marking a week as available does not finalize your hours. Confirmation from RPSA is required before coming to volunteer.

What to bring

• Closed toed shoes that can get wet are mandatory (no sandals or flip-flops)
• Appropriate, layered clothing for the weather
• Change of clothes and towel
• Lunch and snacks
• Water bottle
• Sunscreen
• PFD
