Can my staff process Shopping Cart orders to be paid offline?
Yes, for special situations, you can allow shop orders to be processed without a credit card, by using the Offline Payment Option by Access Code feature.
As an example, if your staff must process shop orders onsite where payment is received in cash (such as at your Box Office, or on location), they can enter this code from the View Cart page in the Coupon Code box and be presented with the option of paying offline by cash, in addition to, paying online by credit card.
Here is how it works:
- On the “View Cart” page, your staff has the ability to enter a coupon code. Once they have applied the coupon code, there is no immediate indication of anything being different on this page. However, when they click ‘Check Out’ and get to the final payment page, they will be shown the option to either “Pay by Credit Card” or "Pay at the door".
- When they select "Pay at the door" and click submit, the confirmation screen & email will state: "Order Status: Successfully processed! Payment pending."
- Orders paid offline will be shown as "Order Status: Ordered" in your reports. Orders paid by credit card will be shown as "Order Status: Paid" in your reports.
How do I enable the Offline Payment Option by Access Code?
- Click the Shopping tab.
- From the General Settings section of the Shopping Cart service, click Options.
- At the bottom of the page, enter the Access Code in the Allow Offline Payment Option by Access Code section.
- Click Save.
