When creating Custom Reports, use the following Operators when entering filter conditions for search criteria:
equals
Find results that are an exact match. For example: "Activity equals Gala Dinner 2009" returns all records for this event.
not equal to
Find results that do not include transactions an exact match. For example: "Activity not equal to Gala Dinner 2009" returns records for all activities except for transactions from the Gala Dinner 2009. This is especially useful for eliminating empty fields (for example: "Email not equal to ")
less than
Find results that are less than the value you enter. For example: "Total less than 500" returns records where the total transaction amount ranges from 0 to 499.99.
greater than
Find results that exceed the value you enter. For example: "Total greater than 500" returns records where the total transaction amount ranges from 500.01 and up.
less or equal
Find results that match or are less than the value you enter. For example: "Total greater less or equal 500" returns records where the total transaction amount ranges from 0 to 500.00
greater or equal
Find results that match or exceed the value you enter. For example: "Total greater or equal 500" returns records where the total transaction amount ranges from 500.00 and up.
contains
Use for fields that include your search string but might also include other information. For example: "Activity contains Dinner" would find results for all activites that includes the word Dinner (Gala Dinner 2009, Gala Dinner 2010, and Reach for the Stars Dinner & Dance). As the Activity is case sensitive, it would not include results from activities which include the word "dinner" with a lower case "d".
does not contain
Eliminates records that do not contain the Value you enter. For example: "Activity does not contains Dinner" would NOT include results for Gala Dinner 2009, Gala Dinner 2010, and Reach for the Stars Dinner & Dance. As the Activity is case sensitive, your report will still contain results from activities which include the word "dinner" with a lower case "d".
starts with
Use when you know what your value starts with, but not the exact text. This is a narrower search term than "contains." For example: If you enter "Activity starts with Gala", your results would still contain results from Gala Dinner 2009 and Gala Dinner 2010, but not Reach for the Stars Dinner & Dance.
ends with
Use when you know what your value ends with, but not the exact text. This is a narrower search term than "contains." For example: If you enter "Activity ends with 2009", your results would contain results from Gala Dinner 2009 and Summer Fun 2009, but not Gala Dinner 2010 or Reach for the Stars Dinner & Dance.
does not start with
Use when you know what your value does not starts with, but not the exact text. This is a narrower search term than "does not contains." For example: If you enter "Activity does not starts with Gala", your results would contain results from Reach for the Stars Dinner & Dance, but not Gala Dinner 2009 nor Gala Dinner 2010
does not end with
Use when you know what your value does not ends with, but not the exact text. This is a narrower search term than "does not contain." For example: If you enter "Activity does not end with 2009", your results would contain results from Gala Dinner 2010 or Reach for the Stars Dinner & Dance, but not Gala Dinner 2009 nor Summer Fun 2009.
