2009-06-23: Event Registrar - Ask Questions
INCLUDE QUESTIONS WITHIN YOUR EVENT SETUP...
Thanks to your feedback, we have launched new functionality to ask questions within the Event Registrar service. With the new Ask Questions section:
- You can now create questions that can be selectively displayed to registrants based on the specific Registration Option, Session Option or Additional Item they have purchased.
- You no longer have to attach an Event Survey to collect additional information (... saving yourself the $0.10 per survey completed!).
- When copying of an event, the questions will be automatically copied to your new draft!
- By tying the responses directly to an event, the data collected can be more easily accessed via APIs and custom reporting in a future phase.

Where do I find the responses to these questions?
The responses to these questions are available in the new Question Details report, located in the list of Event Registrar reports.

Why do the email confirmations no longer include the responses to the questions?
GiftTool is currently reviewing the content of all confirmation emails & onscreen messages with privacy considerations in mind. Our policy is currently to send out confirmation emails that contain the same text as the onscreen confirmation. As identity theft becomes a broader issue, we are rethinking this strategy to help our clients protect their customer's personal information (since emails are not secure and can be easily screened with software used by identity thieves). We are aware of several clients using the Ask Questions section to collect sensitive medical or other information that is inappropriate to send via email.
Therefore, as a next phase, we are looking to decouple the onscreen message with the confirmation email. In the meantime, the answers to the Ask Questions will not appear in the email confirmation.

Can the responses to the questions be changed after a registrant has completed their order?
No, currently it is not possible to change the responses provided by the registrant during their online submission to maintain the integrity of the data collected from the participant.
