When will a Canadian eTax receipt be issued?

Canadian eTax receipts are automatically sent out as follows:

  • Donors making a one-time online donation will receive their eTax receipt usually within a matter of a few minutes after giving, and up to 48-72 hours later if the system is experiencing heavy volume or system maintenance.
  • Recurring donors will automatically receive an annual eTax receipt for all donations made throughout the year just in time for tax season.
  • Offline pledgers (sponsoring a Pledge-a-thon participant with an offline cash or cheque donation) will only receive their tax receipt when you confirm receipt of the cash or cheque pledge and issue tax receipts within your GiftTool account.
